Airbus A320 passenger aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines crashed into a residential area in the city of Karachi. Flight PK8303 carried 91 passengers and 8 crew members. The plane from Lahore, one of the busiest airports in the country, to Cinnah International Airport in Karachi, fell in the second landing attempt, 97 people died.
Arshad Malik, the Chairman of Pakistan International Airlines, stated that the pilot said to the air traffic control tower that “the engines of the plane had failed” and made an emergency call.
The airline’s spokesperson said the plane lost contact with the air traffic control tower just after 14:30 local time. In the images shared from the residential area, it was seen that many houses were destroyed.
eyewitness Mohammed Uzair Khan said that he heard a very loud voice and saw that at least four houses were completely destroyed when he looked out. Dr. Kanwal stated that a big black smoke rose from three houses next to a Nazim mosque.
